Children's Hayloft

Child’s Play:  Child's Play is a FREE activity for kids in grades K-6. 

2024 - Child's play will be held for one week: June 24th through June 28th 2:30-6:30pm.

Location: The Barn Theatre (321 4th St. SW, Willmar)

Instructors: Bailey Stahl, Cole Woltjer, volunteers

Description: During the week, children will participate in fun theatre activities such as acting games, creating costumes, or even props and set pieces. They will learn about the theatre, acting, rehearsing, and how to work together to put on a show! No theatre experience needed. At the end of the week, the children will put on a small performance for parents, guardians, and friends to show what they've learned and achieved! The performance will start at 6pm Friday, June 28; all are welcome to attend.

Children’s Hayloft Players is a fall production for children in grades 1-9 to learn and grow within the theatre arts. An age-appropriate musical or comedy is rehearsed and performed for the public. 

During a seven-week time the children learn every aspect about theatre including:

 Build and paint small set pieces

•  Add props to the show
•  Costuming
•  Memorizing lines
•  Blocking

•  Performing

     This activity is sponsored in part by a generous donation from the Willmar Area Community Foundation.
